Frequently Asked Question's
Whether you're looking for day-of coordination or full wedding planning from start to finish, you probably have questions and you shouldn't have to dig for the answers. Below are the things couples ask us most often about our coordination and planning services, timelines, and what it's actually like to work with Bay & Barn on Maryland's Eastern Shore. Don't see your question here? Reach out and we'll walk you through it.
What's the difference between day-of coordination and full wedding planning?
Day of coordination steps 4 weeks before your wedding day to execute the plan you've already built. Full wedding planning is hands on from the beginning, helping with vendor sourcing and every decision along the way. We offer both, so you can choose the level of support that fits how you want to plan.
Do you handle decor setup and breakdown?
Setup and breakdown is available as an add on for day of coordination and is included in our full planning package. We're happy to walk you through what's included at each level.
Do I need day-of coordination, or do I need a full planner?
If you enjoy planning and just want someone to run the actual day, day of coordination is likely the right fit. If you want guidance from the start, vendors, design, budget, timeline, full planning takes that off your plate from day one.
What's the difference between a coordinator/planner and a venue coordinator?
A venue coordinator works for the venue specifically. We work for you, whether that means coordinating your day or planning the whole thing, our job is to advocate for your vision, not the venue's.
Do you help with the timeline?
Absolutely, for both service levels. If you haven't already worked on a rough draft we can build it together, and it's typically refined as we get closer to your date and confirm details with vendors.
Can I customize a package?
Absolutely. No two weddings are the same, we have standard packages for both coordination and planning but are always open to building something custom.
When do you start working with us?
For day of coordination, we typically start4 weeks out with a detailed call to understand your wedding details and vision. For full or partial planning, we start much earlier , often right after you book, and stay involved through every stage leading up to your wedding.
When is payment due?
A non-refundable retainer is due to hold your date. After that, we accept payment plans based on your total balance divided by the number of months until your wedding, with the last payment due 4 weeks before your wedding date.
